The Sacred Heart Diet is a fad diet that has been circulating for many years. The diet was supposedly thought to come from the cardiology department at Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital where it was used for overweight heart patients. However, like most of these diets - this is an urban myth.
The Sacred Heart Diet has been called a number of different names (such as the Spokane Heart Diet, the Cleveland Clinic Diet, Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital Diet and the Miami Heart Institute Diet). The diet also bears a striking resemblance to the cabbage soup diet.
The Sacred Heart diet is a soup-based diet, and claims that you will lose 10-17 pounds in the first week. This may be true, but most of the weight will tend to be water - and will be gained right back very soon after the diet.
This diet is very clearly an unsustainable fad diet, but is not as nutritionally unsound as similar diets. Most of these diets claim some magical fat-burning science is involved, or that there is something special about the combination of foods. This is simply untrue - it is nothing more complex than a reduction in calories!
Day 1
Any fruit (except bananas). Cantaloupes and watermelon are lower in calories than most other fruits. Eat only soup and fruit today.
Day 2
All vegetables. Eat until you are full with fresh raw, cooked or canned veggies. Try to eat green leafy veggies and stay away from dry beans, peas or corn.
Eat veggies along with the soup.
A baked potato and dinner time with butter.
Don’t eat any fruits through today.
Day 3
Eat all the soup, fruit and veggies you want. Do not have a baked potato.
Day 4
Bananas and skim milk: Eat at least 3 bananas and drink as much milk as you can today, along with the soup.
Day 5
Beef and tomatoes: you may have 10 to 20 ounces of beef and a can of tomatoes, or as many as 6 tomatoes on this day. Eat the soup at least once today.
Day 6
Beef and veggies, eat to your heart’s content of the beef and veggies today. You can even have 2-3 steaks if you like with green leafy veggies but no baked potato. Be sure to eat the soup at least once today.
Day 7
Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juice and veggies, until full (and eat the soup).
You can add cooked veggies to your rice if you wish.
Drinks Allowed
Soup Recipe
Season with salt, pepper curry, parsley, if desired, or bouillon, hot or Worcestershire sauce. Cut veggies in small to medium pieces. Cover with water. Boil fast for 10 minutes. Reduce to simmer and continue to cook until vegetables are tender.
The soup can be eaten at any time.
Here is a different version of the diet - alleged to have come from Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pennsylvania.
“Follow the daily plan for 2 consecutive weeks, then take the following week off. You can repeat the cycle for as long as you like or until you achieve your weight loss goal.”
MONDAY
Eat SOUP and all the FRESH FRUIT that you want. Nothing else. (no bananas)
TUESDAY
Eat SOUP and all the FRESH VEGETABLES that you want. Nothing else. (no corn or beans).
WEDNESDAY
Eat SOUP and BOTH FRUIT & VEGETABLES, all you want. Nothing else.
THURSDAY
Eat SOUP all day and 3 BANANAS. 1 GLASS OF SKIM MILK. Nothing else.

SATURDAY

this diet is great for a jump start lost only 6lbs
Do you really only lose water weight? do you gain the weight back on? because i would really like to try it!
C’mon, don’t you guys SEE that this diet is a fraud!? It even says on top that this diet is not recommended!
This is my third day on the diet, and it’s only 7:43 a.m. I have lost 5 lbs already! I personally believe the diet is healty due to all the fruits and veggies…which is loaded with vitamins I normally would not be getting. as you can read the diet has included the protein you need. I feel much better than I did before I started the diet and have gained some energy I didn’t have prior to the diet. April 11, 2008
My dad tried this diet, it did wonders for him, about 100 lbs in total over about 6 months. But it all comes back with a vengence as soon as you aren’t working out several times a week and eating more ‘normally’.
This diet may be a fraud, yet now I’m eating lots of bread and drinking lots of diet soda; not to mention, the sweets here and there every day!!!!! So this diet can’t be worst than the way I’m eating now!!! That’s the truth friend…….
I just went off this diet and I lost 6 lbs. too. I had plenty of energy and felt fine. It is simply limiting your calorie intake, but you are also eating healthy. I overall eat healthy anyway and just did the diet to get those last few stubborn pounds off. It also helped me realize when I am full instead of continuing to eat and it helped train me to eat more healthy choices. I think overall it was a good experience. Plus, how can eating fruits, vegetables, lean meat, and drinking milk for a week hurt you. It’s only a week. Try it.
I was just wondering which soup recipe each of you used, the first one listed, or the second?
ive heard from everybody that this diet really works! its my second day on the diet and just decided to do some research on it. i really hope that this diet rally works and that all your comments are true! ive tired every other diets but none of them worked for me.. i hope this one does!
I am on my fith day and have lost 6 lbs. I have more energy and my skin is clearer. The first two days are the hardest but after that is seemed to get easier. I used the box of chicken noodle soup, not the can and I did not use potatoes in the soup.
I am on my 6th day of this diet. I have so far lost 6 1/2 lbs. I enjoy this diet, because it has given me and my family a jump start to a healthier way of eating. Hey 6 lbs is 6 lbs!!
I stopped ‘dieting’ nine months ago. All of my clothes fit me, my skin doesn’t crack when I smile, and I have the energy to get out of bed in the morning. Eating healthily entails calories–about 2,000, for the majority of women. Take it from the ex-anorexic–this sounds like a lot, but it isn’t. Get yours. You’ll feel better.
i did this diet for five days and lost five pounds. it seemed to work pretty good. i mean i was always hungry, but i expected that.
Ive done the diet before it works but you gain the weight back easy!!
I tried this diet for one week and I lost 12 lbs. Its been 3 weeks now and I still have not gained the weight back. I feel so much better and I do have more energy.
I did the diet a month ago and lost 9 pounds. I have kept it off for the month by being a little careful and by taking a daily 2 mile walk. I will do the diet again next week….trying to lose 10 lbs this time! April 2008
I did the original version of this diet three years ago and lost 11 lbs. I dont excersise any more than I always have (once a week…maybe!!!) The weight always stays off. I do the diet for a week once every year - so that I can celebrate christmas properly!
Maybe the source is fraudulant,it probably didn’t come from a hospital, but who cares. I lost 15 lbs in over a week and I haven’t felt this good in years. As for the comments about gaining the weight back: this diet is not a cure, you still need will-power not to go back to your old eating habits. THIS WORKS.
I did this diet bofore I quit smoking, knowing that I would gain weight. Over a six month period I lost 40lbs, and I felt great. When I had quit smoking, strangly enough it seemed that the normal syptoms of quiting were just not presant. And I am proud to say that I am three years smoke free. Although after six months of no smoking the weight started to come back on. This diet at one time made me lose weight was now caused me to gain. I believe that my motabilisum was just not working. The soup became imposable to eat and I gave up. Now, I am sick of weight and am ready to try it again. This time I am going to try the Cabbage soup recipe in the hopes of it being the change I need. Well here it goes, it’s day one and the soup is really good. We’ll see what happens in a week. I’ll keep you all posted. P.S For anyone who thinks this diet is unhealthy I believe your wrong. And anyone who is considering to try this diet, I urge you to give it a whorl. If you not keen on the veggi soup, then try the cabbage soup
Did the Cabbage Soup diet some years back and I did lose 17lbs. in the time frame allowed. Of course, you better like cabbage. It did help jump-start a longer period of dieting. You will gain the weight back if you don’t monitor what you eat, as with any diet program. A little exercise is also a PLUS.
My third day on the diet and I have lost 3lbs. I am eating healthier than I ever have…. I feel great. What is fraud about it?
My husband and I and a couple of friends tried this diet, we all lost, my husband and I each lost 9 pounds. That is amazing considering I would only lose up to 3 pounds a month on diet and excercise alone. We were so encouraged that we are on our second week. It does take will-power and determination, but it is worth it at the end of the week. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND!!! this to every one IT WORKS!!! We did the original recipe of soup only on the fourth day, but we’re willing to try the soup more on this week. I’m glad for everyone here who has tried this and seen results, and for those who still won’t give this diet it’s credit, well all I can say is that your are just losing time doing all the research, when you could just be losing weight. And who doesn’t want that?
It works, do not be discouraged by these negative myth remarks, give it a try.
I did this diet about a month ago and lost right at 10lbs. The weight has stayed off because I don’t eat as much as before, try to eat a little better and walk an extra day, 4 instead of 3. It works but you have to work a little to keep the weight off
I know the diet works becauase I tried the diet and I lost a total of 13 lbs. in 7 days and it helps when you have someone doing it with you. Now thoe of you whosay it’s a fraud…then that’s probably because you cheated and did not work out. You can’t just eat the right foods and nothing else because then all the weight you lose will just hang there. Anyways…IT WORKS!!
The diet works for those who want to lose weight and are strong enough to withstand the urges to cheat. I lost 13 lbs. in 7 days due the diet and am doing it again.
Myself and my husband completed the diet and both lost weight, I have struggled with weight all my life, and this seems to work, My husband lost 14lbs and I lost 6lbs it has been a month and we have not gained any back so we are trying it again.
Several of my coworkers and I tried this dietlast year, and it does work, we lost between 7-10 lbs each, and we are trady to try it again this year..
For all the people it worked for that is awesome! I spoke with my doctor, and she said although you are eating healthy, if you lose that much weight that fast, it puts a strain on your heart and it just isnt healthy because of the fact. If you lose it slowly over time, then that is better. Please, Please, Please becareful. My father’s mother passed away because of losing so much weight so quickly that it gave her a heart attack, so im begging all to please be careful! I am overweight myself, but have completely changed my eating habits and I am proud to say I have already lost 24lbs, and still tons more to go. We dont put the weight on over night, and we sure cant take it off that fast either. Becareful, and God Bless.
I am on my third day of the diet and have lost 3 1/2 lbs. I feel sick to my stomach because i can’t eat the same thing over and over, but its working and I plan to truck on for another 4 days. I feel a little sick, but i feel like im eating healthier than i was before.
A few months after having my baby I went from 170 pounds to 135. Its just from eating healthy. Limited sugar and nothing with flour in it. i tried the cabbage soup diet-i ate the soup once at lunch and dumped the rest of it in the trash and never did it again. why suffer and gag on the soup, instead you could eat salad with chicken, egg whites with tomatotes….its not that hard! we are just too obsessed with putting good food in our mouths.
I lost 9 pounds the first week and was psyched to lose more but the following week I was stalled at the same weight. I went on vacation and did not gain anything and resumed the diet this week. I am still stalled at the same weight. I need to try new diet to shock my system and lose more weight. Sunday is my last day on this then 1 day break and onto 3 day diet then after that the water cress diet! I hope I lose!
well im on day 3 and it is hard as with any other addiction. we spend our whole life being taught wrong, youll spend the rest trying to right the wrongs. its safe and it makes you feel real good and when you exercise also..its amazing how you feel..everyone try it…
Donna
My friend tried the diet and lost almost 7lbs. She said you get a little irritable at first then your body gets used to it. I was thinking of trying it myself a week before I go to the caribbean.
Just started the diet this morning. My wife and I are doing it together. I think if I can make it through tommorrow with out cheating I will be o.k. Some co-workers have had success with it so maybe it will work.but I think I am already sick of the soup.
It’s probably a good way to get fast results, which will give you the encouragement to continue. 2lbs a week is the healthy way but can also be discouraging when you first start a diet.
I am just wondering if it still works well if you don’t have a lot too lose? I only have 7-12lbs to lose after my second child… and only have 6 weeks to lose it. Please, if you have done this diet to lose the last 5-10 post and let me know. I hate all the ingredients that are in the soup but I put them in the blender and made it into a drink. I gag but it goes down. If you have done this and lost weight when you already eat healthy and work out 6 days a week please post.
diet works great. Healthy and cleansing
Started the diet today, already feel sick from all the fruit I am not used to eating. And can anyone else tell me if I am supposed to be urinating so much.(Every 20 minutes or so)
I’m about to try this diet based on the results my friend had. Of course it’s a “fad diet”, but it works! The key to not gaining weight is to keep watching what you eat at the end of the week. Work out, eat healthier and cut down on the junk food. This diet is just great for giving you a kick start.
I’ve just made the soup in a slow cooker, it tastes great… but, I thought you had to add your own veggies! And I’d already chopped up and added courgettes, cabbage (only a little) and mushrooms, before I realised! Do you think it will still work??? Courgettes and cabbage are both ‘negative calorie’ effect and mushrooms are VERY low in cals… so I’m hoping it will =/
Now, I’ve been on a starvation/restriction ‘diet’ for well over a month now, so if this diet still works for me, then it’s DEFINITELY not just a reduction in calories. I will post in a week (or sooner if I loose before then). I’ve been living on 200 cals or less and changing it up along the way. Eg: 600 cals for 3 days, then back down to 200 for a week, then up to 900 for a few days and then way back down, etc. I lost 20 odd lbs the first 2 weeks and then plataeued pretty badly. I’m doing this diet now to kickstart my metabolism *hopefully*. I am able to sustain ‘monotonous diets’, bc I’ve always had stages where I eat only 1 or 2 foods for months and months, then I’ll go onto something else -not by choice, really, just craving- and I love soup, so this should be easy! It’ll be eating the rice, potatoe and all that meat that will be hard!
Anyway, Wish me luck!
I started the diet yesterday. Today I noticed I’m 1 lbs heavier. Has this happened to anyone else? I only ate soup (4-5 bowlS) and some cantaloupe. I found several versions of this diet. Which one is the one that actually helps you loose weight? So far I only put on. And which is the ingredient in the soup that’s supposed to do the trick? Thank you.
I am about to start the diet. I note everyone’s comments about putting the weight back on but surely you all realise that whatever diet you do, as soon as you go back to your unhealthy way of eating the weight is going to pile straight back on.
it’s a bit hard especially the first two days but the hunger gradually leaves and i have more energy i’m on the fifth day and have lost fourteen pounds i’ve never lost this much weight before in such a short time i will keep posting
I want to lose like 50+ pounds. Has anyone repeated this diet for the purpose of losing lots of weight? Does it work? I’ve done one week and lost 10. I am thinking of doing a week on, 2 days off and repeating. What do you think?
I have been on this deit before too. And had lose 10 pounds in a week without doing anything elsa. It works I am on my last a day this time and I have lose 12 pounds this time. I have keep it off before but went though so hard family stuff and gain some back. I am doing good on it. But I added something this time I never did before nuts almonds and hazel nuts as snacks. I am going to tried the other kind of soup this coming week and walking. Hope to lose more weight this week. Yes I peeed over the moon on the first day too. I will keep you updated on how I am doing next Sunday. Oh by the way it helps if you tell some one you are going to lose some weight. Make sure you respet them and like them.
My mother introduced me to this diet this evening. It worked miracles for her. I hope it does the same for me.
isn’t this the GM diet? tried GM diet…7 pounds in 7 days…worth a try.
I have started diet today and yes i have to pee every 20 minutes too but if i have success like i see on the comments it will be worth it. i am thinking about it as soup and vegtable and fruit are not that bad .i will post another comment saturday this is only day one.
myself and work mates have done this diet a few times and always lost between 10 and 15 lbs in the week. its stays off if you eat sensibly as with all diets after the fact. im doing it again this week for the first time in two years so yes it went back on but took two years for me to gain the weight back. so how can it be a fraud
tried the diet. lost 6 pounds in 5 days and boyfriend lost 13 lbs. were able to keep it off. gonna try it again.
I have not started this diet yet but i hope that it works
Did this diet a few years ago and it worked well. Need a kick start for going travelling so am trying it again. On day 2, no idea how I’m doing, the hunger isn’t as bad as yesterday. Peeing loads but generally feel grand.
With regards the soup, if you add Cumin to it it tastes a lot better, I found there was no taste off it when I made it first.
I dont know how it can be bad. I made the soup tonight and plan to start tomorrow. Hope it works. Even if it doesn’t, I need more veggies in my diet.
I have been on this diet for 2 days and lost 5lbs!!! I will keep you posted.
I love the diet. It sure does make you gassy though doesnt it?
Well I’m like Josepehine & the Technicolour Bladder, I’ve never seen so many different colour wees!!!
Am on day 4 bananas and skimmed milk, don’t drink milk at the best of times so am mixing it with water and coffee! Don’t actually feel like I’ve lost anythin but my hunger is defo lessened. Hopefully next week when I finish I’ll be able to use the will power I have this week. Happy that’s brillo, well done
I tried to eat the soup but I hate veggies.
Does anybody know if i blend the soup and drink it, will it work the same?
Of course this diet will work. Poeple are fat because of the crap they eat. It think trying this people will get a reality check on how you should eat if you don’t want to be fat. No more processed food for you. The best of luck
Like the directions state, the more you eat the more you loose. I’m on day 4 and down 8.5 lbs. It certainly makes you not want to eat the way you did previously, otherwise, you’ll have to do the diet again!
I don’t know how anyone can say this diet is a fraud, it’s no worse than any other I’ve seen. Cookie diets, coffee diets, sauerkrat diet, BLAH!
I’ve just completed it, but since I don’t have a scale to weigh myself I can’t tell you how much weight I’ve lost. I do know I’m wearing jeans that I haven’t been able to get into for months.
KUDOS
I do agree that it does make you look at the food choices you make. I lost 7lbs through the week and am now hopefully going to have a different relationship with food. I’ve now got a bag stocked with fruit. I thought I’d miss bread a lot but it was only one evening when I got home late and the pure ease of having a sambo made me think doh, 10 mins later I was sitting eating a stirfry of veggies and was grand. Really thought I’d have a bigger issue with bread. It’s gas how quick your brain turns though, lunchtime has come and I’m thinking of what to be getting, of course pure habit makes you think of a sambo but I’m having soup instead.
I call this the miracle diet. I lost 17 pounds on this plan. I have a lowgrade hunger all day but I lose about 1 pound a day for is. I got really sick of the soup. ;love the chicken one. I use hot sauce in the original one to spice it up. I swear by this. It is a no brainer, few choices every day is new and diferent. You can do it. Set your mind up to think you had the bypass surgery and this is your food until your surgery heals.
I lost a total of 8lbs.
I have been on the diet for 4 days and so far only one lb. It does work but I don’t see how people are loosing 10-17 lbs in a week. I have did everrything without cheating. I even walk 3-5 miles a day but I will finish out the rest of the week and see what happens. What am I doing so wrong.
When I went to the Navy (knowing prior i would be over their weight restrictions) they reccommended this diet. They told me they recommend this diet to any new recruit, for two reasons. 1. you will lose weight and detox your body very quick. 2. once your in the Navy (leading an active lifestyle) you will keep the weight off.
i plan on starting the diet on monday but what i need to know is can i switch soups if i can’t handle one soup if i switch to the other one will it still work im 100lbs. overweight i have high bp and just had my 4th c-section i need help
can you use other soups? like french onion or just plain campbell’s chicken noodle?
I am interested in doing the diet, but I’m a very picky eater. Can you use any soup (i.e. french onion or Campbell’s plain chicken noodle) or is it a must that you follow the recipe?
This is my 4th time doing this diet. I have always lost 5-10 pounds. In College I did this diet for 3 months straight and lost over 30 pounds. I have never felt better. It takes will power to stay on it. Most diets are so complex this one is easy. I urge everyone to do it. It works!!
are u suppose to do any kind of exercises?
Can u eat the fruit everyday? I have brought loads of fruit and then realised that it is not mentioned from day three.
What I have saved on junk food, I have spent on toilet roll!! Seriously, these kinds of foods can only be beneficial to you health. I have had many friend’s use this diet and all seem to thrive on it.
I’m getting ready to start this diet recommended by a coworker who has lost over 30 lbs in a month. She looks great and I do a double take every time I see her. This will be day one for me and she recommended the Lipton onion soup (chicken noodle).
My daughter’s friend’s mother tried this diet in November and has stuck with it. She does the diet every two weeks. She has lost 60 pounds! I’m going to try it.
hey it work
I’m getting ready to start this diet recommended cowork who lost 6lb in two day.
Ive known many people to succeed on this diet. The first time i tried it years ago, i quit during the 3rd day. But now i am on my 5th day. I thought the 1st & 2nd days were the most difficult, until today, since i dont eat meat or fish. I feel better overall, but dont know what I have lost. With only 2 days left, i can stick with it. Ive heard its good to do on a montly basis, for weight loss or maintenence.
I’m wondering how much weight each of you had to lose to begin with? I am about 30 pounds overweight and wondering if I will lose weight as rapidly on this diet as others seem to have. I can’t imagine losing as many as 17 pounds in one week if I’m 30 pounds overweight. For those that lost 5-7 pounds, how overweight are you?
I just started this diet. Uhhh….I’m not sure if i like it or not. I’m going on day 3 (tomarrow) Lost 3 to 4 lbs so far. But I havent ate the soup very often does that matter? I eat about 1/2 bowls a day. I am about 40 lbs overweight ( thanks to the sweet lil babe) I hope this works I am getting really frustrated with how fat I feel all the time. I am feeling better in the first 2 days. Well see. I will keep you updated………
Hi! I am on my 4th day on this diet, and i am finally getting the energy back again. I lost 4 lbs as of this morning. I do like the soup but i can only eat so much. I did not eat any yesterday. I am not sure if that matters. I hope i can lose another 5 that would be wonderful. I also cheat a little. I ate ranch with my carrots. This takes alot of will power especially if you work at a job like me. Everyone loves potlucks, so there is ALWAYS food in the break room. Did well yesterday! Good luck!!
This is a very strange and unscientific recipe:
* 1 or 2 cans of stewed tomatoes (1 or 2? That’s a huge range)
* 3 plus large green onions (Seems like a tiny amount of onion)
* 1 large can of beef broth (no fat) (Nasty salty oily stuff)
* 1 pkg. Lipton Soup mix (chicken noodle)(Nasty salty chemically stuff)
* 1 bunch of celery (That is a huge amount of celery)
* 2 cans green beans (Why cans? Why not fresh?)
* 2 lbs. Carrots
* 2 Green Peppers
Anyway, I made it as follows:
* 2 cans of diced tomatoes
* 3 bunches green onions
* 1 large can of beef broth (no fat)
* 1 bunch of celery
* 2 lbs. green beans
* 2 lbs. Carrots
* 2 Green Peppers
Salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste. It is actually very nice, like minestrone without the beans, I’ll make it again with beans when I am off the diet. I will skip the beef stock in future. I skipped the lipton packaged soup. Maybe half as much celery next time. What I ended up with is pretty thick. I have a big pot of it and I take a smaller pot at a time and add quite a lot of water to make it more like soup and less like stew. It is still very flavourful.
I have just completed day 2. No ill effects or cravings. The worst part is the skim milk in my tea. I’m drinking my coffee black which isn’t bad at all. Perhaps that will be a permanent change.
Strange it isn’t more specific about which fruits and vegetables to eat and to not eat. It just does not seem like a diet put together by someone with a very logical or scientific mind!
Anyway, I’ll do it for 2 weeks and then see where I am. I do not want to get to the stage where I start burning muscle instead of fat which is one of the possible consequences of losing too much weight too quickly.
All things in moderation.
The most important thing though is to not return to your previous eating habits when you finish the diet. Eating healthy will have to become a fulltime occupation or the weight will return. Good news is that you can eat healthy and eat very well at the same time. It will just take being always conscious of what you are eating, but not to the point of obsession. Ice cream and cookies and chocolate cake and french fries IN MODERATION can be part of a healty diet once you are at your ideal weight.
Good luck everyone, I will report back at the end of week 1.
In the past I tried this diet..it worked i lost 8 lbs in 1 week….the only reason i stoped was because i got tired of it…now i am going to try it again..hopefully it still works!!
I am on my 3rd day of the diet and I have lost 8 pounds. The only problem is that I am so tried of smelling and eating the soup. Today I have maybe eaten a cup, but I’ve eaten a lot of fruit and veggies. Tomorrow will be the worst for me just banana’s and skim milk and soup. I started this and I will finish good luck to everyone that is doing this diet it works. I have a lot of weight to loose so I will go off for the two days and back on. I will do this twice a month. Big Ups to a healthier life:).
I’m on the second day, and I’ve already lost a few pounds. It’s kind of annoying to eat almost the same thing every day, but it’s really worth it.
This is my fourth day, I like it better today than the first day.
I feel like I lost , but I’m one for not weighing in. I wish we could have a glass of wine once a week. I will go the seven day’s and let you know
I have been trying this diest for a couple weeks now…in the first week i lost 12 pounds! Sounds great but as soon as i had one day of “normal” eating it all comes crashing back. This is a quick result short term diet results. The numbers may look good on the scale but the pounds immediately come back
Well i tried it and was sick aka puking by the third day and lost ZERO pounds, however my brother did it and lost 10 pounds, which was mainly water
I was cooking the soup as I came across this. It works, and for everyone that says you will gain the weight right back, that is true if you go back to your old eating habits. And if you do that, no diet will work forever. It’s common sense.
The funny part is, I work at Lehigh Valley Hospital and I never heard this diet referred to as that.
I have a wedding to attend next saturday. I am one of the bride’s maids. The dress that I brought few months ago, is not fitting me now. i have joined gym for past month, but doesn’t look like it did anything. This diet is my only hope. I will try it tommorrow and see what happens. If the dress doesn’t fit me by the wedding day, it will be a big embarrassment.
A few months ago, i brought this dress to wear at my cousin’s wedding. Since i’m the bride’s maid, it is important for me to watch my weight. The dress fit me few months back. But now, it doesn’t fit me. I have one week till the wedding and really have to lose about 15 pounds. This diet is my only hope. Today was my day 1. I dont feel any difference yet. But i hope I will.
My husband abd I are starting on Monday, will keep posted!
i have done this diet before, and yes it really does work, it is hard for the first two days but then once you get to have meat its awesome. going back to boxing this week so will be intersting how much i loose, last time i lost 5 kilos in a week, but doing boxing everyday and any excise will make u loose more so i would be very happy either way.
I did the trim club diet for 8 weeks and lost 30 pounds. I would like to lose an additional 10-15 pounds so I’m trying this diet. Today is day one. I had fruit for breakfast and soup for lunch. I’m not hungry but my stomach is making an awful racket. I know people that tried this and they did lose weight, but it’s also a cleansing diet (if you know what I mean) so maybe that’s where alot of the weightloss comes from. They say most people carry 15 to 20 pounds in their colon. Has anyone experienced that problem. My friend also tried this and said that by the third day she just couldn’t eat any more soup and gave up.
Today is my first day.. and it sucks because I’m very picky. Plus, the peaches I got aren’t ripe yet, lol, so I think I’m stuck with apples all day..
I think I need some words of encouragment!!!
Can you have a potato more than on the second day. I am a little confused if you can have it on other days or only the second.
3.5 lbs lost on the second day!
I love this diet and will be doing it until I drop 25lbs. Its been 4 days already and I have lost 6lbs! I can’t wait til Saturday to see if I lost more. I workout everyday and the food is very filling. The diet works! Its hard at first but gets easier everyday.
I used the first recipe and have lost 9 pounds with only three days behind me. Even if it is a “fraud” diet, it is keeping me eating healthy foods so it is worth it to me!
I stayed on this diet for 2 months and went from a size (tight) 38 to in between a 34 -36, I went from around 200lbs to 173 lbs in 2 months…..but I strickly struck to the diet….no slips no substitutes!!
Ashley, Did you put spices in your soup? Did you puree it? Try putting Italian spice, bell peppers in your soup than puree it. I’m totally picky as well. Watermelon is really good and it fills you up fast! Don’t give up this works!
my husbend and i are doing this together so lets hope this works
started today:)
Please, I WARN EVERYONE if you’re going to attempt fad diets such as these to excercise EXTREME CAUTION! As a teen I went on this diet for just over two weeks and had a HEART ATTACK.
Most extreme diets are intended for obese people because their bodies have excess reserved stores of fat.
Just BE CAREFUL. If you find yourself feeling irritable, faint, over-heated, tired and/or lethargic STOP. Don’t carry it out longer than a week unless you’re more than 20 lbs overweight and never NEVER go longer than 2 weeks without a break of a week or two with good hearty food.
I lost 10 lbs and my husband lost 7 lbs! Good luck to everyone!
i amm on this diet and i stared on june 3 2008 with 153 pound 7 days and then one day off and like that i weight myself june 22 2008 and i am on 145 well i didn’t lose what is say but is my only hope and i am sticking on it
I needed to lose 60 pounds in three months to qualify fora heart transplant and then keep the weight off for a year. Quess what, it works!!! I followed the plan for three months off came the sixty pounds(along with walking one mile twice a day),after that it was this diet and a sensible dinner every day for the next year. Like any other diet if you return to how you were eating it will come back.
On day two of the diet. I love fruits and veggies so this is the perfect thing for me.I have lost one pound so far. However im leaving for vegas this weekend and plan to drink. So my results may be delayed. Im going to stop the diet for the weekend only then start over on monday. But so far the test run is going good. Ive even got my parents doing it with me. Keep everyone posted.
Also just to note: I run and exercise every day. So Im not just a lazy dieter that wants to lose weight with out working for it. I just need the diet to break my platau.
i lost 7lb in the first week, my manager lost 15lb in the first week and totally to date over 30lb. i’ve kept it off and so did she. im going on my 4th week right now, and she’s down in florida bathing in sun, on her 6th week of diet.
and to critic_92, with all due respect, i’d rather listen to my body and scale instead of someone posting on a site. its easy to trash an idea, but its better to feel the facts.
hello everyone i have been doing this for about a month and i have lost 63 pounds , but i only ate soup, apples, and carrots. I drank only water and i exercised religiously * like alot of exercise*, and my doctor told me it was a fast and sudden weight loss but its better then being what i was before i started. Also i took diurex tablets , there like a dieurtic pills that make you pee alot more, and i used to weigh 200 now im already down to 137 and i look and feel great .
on day 3 at the moment and finding it quit difficulT! not that im hungry really, just that im craving foods! not looking forward to tommorow having bananas all day but i hope i can get through it. Along with losing the weight i want to know if i have the willpower to complete the diet as i have never tried anything like this beforE. i hope once i finish the diet that i will have lost up to 8pounds and hope that once i start eating normally again that the weight will not return. normally i eat quite well however i feel after this diet i will binge. just wondering about other peoples results? if the weight did pile on afterwards or if they also found it quite dissiculT!?
I did this diet about a year ago. i only did it for 3 days, because i was being a little baby about it and got sick of the veggies. but in those 3 days i lost 6 lbs! I’m trying it again next week.
Hi,
I started this diet and today in Day 4.I follow this Diet Plan strictly still I lost only 1lb in 4 days. Are there any chances of losing more in coming 3 days.Doesn’t it work for everyone.I drink 10 glasses of water and I am not having this soup.Is it because of this,am I not loosing an weight? Please suggest,if it reall works for me?
I am on my 4th day and noticed that, although I pee a lot (obviously from drinking 8 glasses a day) I am having trouble going to the bathroom - in the other sense - if you know what I mean.
It seems that no one else on this blog has had this problem. Is it just because I haven’t reached the meat part yet?
Because of this “problem” I haven’t lost an ounce but have not cheated one bit on the diet and have been excersing like crazy (45 minutes spinning class or running every day).
HELP!!!???!!
i started this diet today. my doctor wants me to go from 129lbs to 110.i had one small bowl today and 2 cups of lite cranberry juice. it doesnt help that i’m a VEGAN. i substituted the beef broth for veggie stock and didnt put any chicken soup mix at all. i cant have the beef or skim milk…will that affect my results.??? does anyone know??..and mind u im only 17 yrs old
I have a slightly neurotic question… I’m on the second day and I hate veggies. So, instead of eating the baked potato for dinner, I had it for lunch so that I’d have some energy through the day. I plan on just eating the soup until I go to bed. Does anyone think this could mess up the mechanics of the diet? Thanks! I hope this diet works!
this diet works my mom did it and lost about 40 lbs in aprox 4 to 6 months. she looks and feels great and since I put on some lbs I’m gonna try it too. Just takes dedication cause that soup is wicked.
What lipton soup mix did yall use?
If you havent figured it out..this diet is not a fraud, the base mechanics of this healthy eating plan points to negative calorie intake…if you check, all the ingredients of the soup, except broth and chicken noodle soup, are negative calorie foods. Meaning, that your body burns more calories(energy) processing the food than that particular food holds. So therefore you have a negative calorie intake. And that is why it says the more you eat the more you lose. With the added fruits(vitamins), Milk(fat) and Bananas(carbs/Potassium)along with the odd meat(protein) it seems to be a pretty balanced healthy diet. Im on my second day, and so far it doesnt seem that hard at all. Even if I dont lose the 10-17 pounds of fat it claims I can…it will be worth it to lose some, and learn how to eat alot healthier than I have been.
YES IT WORK!!!! I AM TRYING IT AGAIN….I JUST HAD A BABY AND NEED TO LOSE THIS BABY FAT! I TRIED IT B4 AND LOST 20 POUNDS! THIS TIME I AM WALKING WITH IT
i’ve done this diet before and lost around 11 lbs. after i finished the diet i lost even more weight and have kept it off for over 6 months. this diet encourages you to continue to eat healthily and gives you the motivation to do so.
and to bambootree, eat a cup of bran if you are having trouble going to the bathroom after 4 days, this will help and is recommended.
to verinca neff its the first one with out potatoes and
yes! this diet does work and what is really is just detoxing yourbody to get you started if you really want to lose alot of weight and , who ever said it doenst work it does
thhey are wrong honsetly i have seen many people do it in mylife and how greadthey feel. also this diet is hard especaillay in a family you watch everyone eat all of there yummy foods while you can just eat soup and what ever else is says that day but just stay postive and keep your mind on what you are trying to lose. this sounds bad but i feel the flub of where i want to loose the weight when i am about to eat something else other then what it asks for and and tehn i say this is why i am doing it and i stick to it!
Beleive it ! It does work.I did the diet 3 times in two months and
lost 25 lbs.In my case what happened is after each time i would lose 10 to 12 lbs then gain 3 or 4 back.So i still ended up losing
quite a bit of weight. I did this 1 year ago and have not gained
any back. You have to change your eating habits though, that is the key to keeping it off.
Oh and my weight was 216 lbs before trying the diet.I now hover
between 185 and 188 lbs for the past year.Very happy with the results.
I am starting the diet in a couple days, and i’m pretty excited about it. I have heard nothing but good things about this diet. I’ll keep posting.
I am starting this diet monday god willing and I hope to lose a lot of weight. I am at 310 and need to loss 190 to reach my average weight. How big are some of u who lost a lot of weight fast. I am starting a new career in November and would love to make a good impression. I just joined a womens gym and began lifting weights at home. Is the diet hard to stick to? Any suggestions for sucess???
I started this diet because my mom had amazing results. She started three months ago and has since lost over 30 pounds. I need to lose about 20. To all of you out there with questions about “cheating” or not followin the diet EXACTLY as outlined, for example, eating a potato for lunch instead of dinner, you can still have great results. My mom occassionally had to “cheat” due to travelling and not having access to the approved foods. However, use common sense. Still make healthy choices as close to what the diet would normally recommend anyway and you will be fine. The bottom line is you should still be taking in less calories than before you started the diet. Also, my mom didn’t eat the soup much at all, and still lost a ton of wieght. Also, I have had to use the bathroom a whole lot more, but it just reassures me that my body is cleansing itself of toxins left behind by my old eatin habits. Once a person goes off the diet, as long as he/she keeps at the daily caloric allowance for their new weight, they should not gain it back. Good luck everyone!
I am starting this diet today in hopes of shedding some major weight. I currently weigh 315. Is anyone else this large and if so does the weight come off faster? I started in a gym last week and plan to add weight training at home 3 days a week. Any helpful suggestions???
this diet workks ive done it 6 times over the years at have at LEAST lost 10 pounds each time…and as long as you dont OVER eat too much they will stay off. the only neg feedback on this site comes from people that havnt done it soooooo what does that say? not much
Hi Millerchic! You should lose a minimum of 10 lbs this week. I have to lose more around 50 lbs and my first week I lost 10 lbs. Went off of it for 2 weeks and started again this week. Good luck to you! You can do this. If you’re hungry, eat whatever is allowed that day and tell yourself that this is worth the results1 You’ll feel fantastic at the end of thee week!
Re: Recipe I added; Italian spice (lots), garlic, banana peppers, as well as I puree the soup and cook the chicken noodle soup seperatly and add it to the puree so you have some noodles in there. This soup tastes more like a speghetti sauce! It’s great!
I am on this diet for the first time and its day 3; I am ten pounds lighter and felt a burst of energy this morning. My stomach feels funny but I am not hungry. I chew gun when I get cravings (hope this tips helps)
I *occasionally* recommend this diet to patients of mine who are close to–but do not meet–restrictions for (generally) surgical procedures. If you are above your healthy weight given your personal statistics and ESPECIALLY considering your medical history, then this may be something you want to consider. If you are extremely overweight, this diet will almost definitely help you lose a significant amount; however, it is very, VERY important that if you are anything but *slightly* overweight (IE, want to lose less than 15 pounds) you CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR before starting this (or any other!) diet. If you have a history of heart disease, unhealthy blood pressure, or fit into several other COMMON risk factor categories, this diet CAN KILL YOU. If your heart is not strong enough to handle the stresses of severe metabolic changes in such a short time frame, you will be raising your risk level far above the threshold of what is generally considered safe. If you are severely overweight, this diet will probably work to lose you a few pounds - but it is almost definitely not safe. If you insist on trying anyway, GET HELP FROM YOUR DOCTOR. At the very least, keep very close track of your pertinent vitals and check up with your doctor on a daily basis. If you are a reasonably-healthy individual with no outstanding history of heart or other serious cardio/pulmonary disease, (there are other risk factors! See a doctor! I cannot emphasize this enough!), then you should approach this diet carefully; actually WRITE DOWN anytime you feel strange after starting the diet - feeling dizzy, light headed, out of breath, weak or notice that you have difficulty performing tasks which you normally would not have to think about, stop immediately and seek professional, medical help. For those of you who have decided to try, and who have taken the necessary precautions to properly ascertain your risk factors, then I’ll explain briefly what makes this diet “work” as far as raw weight loss is concerned.
The basic science behind the functionality of this diet in stimulating weight loss is something commonly referred to as “negative calorie intake” - though to most people, that just won’t make sense. Here’s what it MEANS, beginning with the basics. First: a “calorie” is a term used to represent the amount of heat energy required to raise 1 gram of water by 1 degree Celcius from a standard initial temperature, and at standard atmospheric pressure. It is exactly equal to 4.1840 joules. When we say a certain food item contains X calories, what we mean is that once your body has broken that food down into a useable energy source, it will provide you with that much energy; your body then uses that energy to further continue its basic functions, including digesting other foods, building muscle, allocating various resources, filtering toxins, etc - every function in your body requires energy, and thus calories. Every time you eat anything, your body will ’spend’ a certain amount of its pre-existing energy (which for the sake of example can be converted to a number of “calories”) on the process of converting that food source into energy. So let’s say that your food source, once converted to energy by your body, grants you 10 calories worth of energy. In this example, when the process used to actually convert that food into energy requires MORE than 10 calories, the net change in your body’s energy level is NEGATIVE. Thus, negative calorie intake. Because this diet also includes a healthy variety of vitamins and other essential nutrients, you will be getting the majority of your nutritional needs without the excess calories typical of the average person’s diet. If your body has excess calories stored as fat, you will almost definitely lose some of that weight. However, so-called “water-weight” will be lost first in most cases. What this means in laymans terms is that this diet is most effective, and safest, for generally healthy folks who simply want to lose a few pounds of ‘easy’ weight as a jump-start to a more comprehensive–healthier–diet and exercise regimen. Please see your personal physician before starting this or any other diet, as a general rule. While the vast majority of dieters will experience success with this regimen, there have been many well-documented cases of patient deaths occuring from secondary health problems which were aggravated by the biological stresses caused by this same diet. For your own sake, please ensure you are not at risk of suffering the same unfortunate–completely preventable–fate. Otherwise… good luck, and good health. Listen to your body.
Ive been researching this diet for a while now but im not sure if i can do it. I’m young and i dont know if its unsafe for me. But im going on 15 years old. I’m going to try it, i hope to see results
I am on my fourth day and have lost 6 pounds and not felt hungry or tired. It’s healthy foods too so I am very pleased so far. Couldn’t believe how quickly you lose without getting hungry!
I am on round 2 with this diet. Started a 240lbs. Lost 10 pounds the first cycle of the diet. Round 2- Day 3 and I have lost an additional 5 pounds. So 15 pounds in 10 days… Not bad. In addition to this diet, I am also working out quite a bit, cardio and weights. Good luck y’all…
Hi, I tried this diet for only 6 days. I lost 8lbs. I came off for a week and am getting ready to start the diet again tomorrow.I still have 3o lbs to lose. wish me luck!!! will let you know how I did.
I’m on my third day of the diet and haven’t cheated. I’ve been following directions, eating the soup and whatever food specified for that day, and having atleast 8 glasses of water a day. I have been doing a moderate level of exercise (playing soccer, areobics and running) and I was expecting to have lost about 3-5 pounds but nothing has changed. I weigh exactly the same amount as before when I wasn’t on the diet. I’m planning on sticking to the diet for the rest of the week but if i don’t lose anything this diet is complete bullshit because I will follow every bit of this diet and I’m not eating obscene amounts of fruits and veggies just enough to keep me from being hungry. so if anyone has any suggestions on what I should be doing along with the diet that I have not mentioned please let me know because I would like to see this diet work a bit.
okayy it has so far been working for me by the third day i had already lost 4 lbs!! (: but the bad thing is that since this makes you go to the bathroom a lot …. all you’re really losing is water |: so this diet is just recommended as a jump start to another DIET
i started this yesterday but found myself feeling hungry and had to have something else to eat i relly want to do this but i get hungry im 12 stone and 5/1 i really dont know how much i need to loose but i no i need to loose weight im unhappy with my body i guess i will have to start again today and try to stick to it i find its the evening is the hardest i also cant go without my 1 cup of coffee in the morning hopefully finding this site will give me encouragment to stick to it with all u lovely people going through the same thing
Hello,
I tried this diet (green beans) about 3-5 months ago. My problem- I wanted to lose weight quickly. Well I did, I lost a total of 13 lbs in ONE WEEK. I thought to myself “yes” finally something that works! But upset too cause I wanted to lose 17lbs, butI couldn’t eat that brown rice, it sucked! I continued the diet off and on for about a month and a half. I found myself wanting chips, cookies, etc. Guess what? I ate those chips, cookies etc, every time the crave was strong…I thought to myself who am I fooling? I love to eat!!! So I changed my thinking and began to fight those cravings, I ate carrots (I love carrots) instead of those cookies. I lost a total of ……23 lbs! Yep,and felt great1 I looked wonderful, from a size 14-16 to a size 8, had more energy, sex life great! I’ve gained 16lbs back, now…frustrated, upset and a real feeling of “loser” hunts me. I came on this site to get the receipe again and found these testimonals, and the above comment “ITS NOT RECOMMENDED” and I read the “Background of The Diet” I havent made up my mind yet whether or not I will try it again. Probably will though, but one thing I must admit. If you stick to it, especially drinking the water, you will lose the weight…..
DAY ONE:
Arghhhhhhh I’m Starving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am allergic to banannas! What should I do about day 4?
Hi,
My husband got a copy of this diet from a coworker and we are both going to start it this Saturday. I am 150lbs and would like to get rid of 25lbs. My husband weighs 175lbs and would like to get rid of 10. I dont normally eat much fruit or veggies either so this is going to be extra hard for me I think. I am a junk food junkie. I will report in to let all know how we are doing and if this works for us.
I started this with my husband, today is #4 I have lost 3lbs. My husband won’t weigh but we can tell he has lost in the stomach!!! It does encourage better eating habits, and I look forward to doing that. I only dream of a choc. chip cookie….smile!!!
I have been on this for 5 days now and I haven’t felt this good in a very long time. When I weighed myself the morning of day 4 I had lost 5.3 pounds!! OK, maybe it is water weight, but I haven’t craved any snacks!! I haven’t felt deprived!! I feel better!! I feel like a million bucks!! I am smiling!! I have more energy!! The list goes on. I intend on doing this for two weeks and then take a week or two off and follow a maintenance plan then do this for two more weeks, off and on until I lose the 30 pounds I need to lose.
i believe that any one who goes on a diet, any diet, will gain the weight back once they stop unless they have something to fall back on, to me this is a great way to get myself eating fruits and vegetables rather than starving myself and not eating at all which is how I have been trying to lose weight.
A fad, maybe, but if one does this correctly and has a maintenance plan on the other end, I believe you will keep the weight off.
I’m on day six, and have lost about 3 pounds. I did’nt have much to loose, as I had drop about 9 pounds in the previous 2 weeks. I wanted to try to get rid of those last few stubborn pounds. I love soup, and enjoy the cabbage soup with plenty of hot sauce, but must admit that it geats a little boring. Not looking forward to brown rice, and veggies again, but almost done. I like the soup best, so it’s easy to heat up a big bowl and get full. I agree that you must continue to make wise food choices, and eat in moderation. As far as being a fruad, who cares ! Look at all of the heathy ingredients involved. I don’t see anything there that is considered good for you. Will definitly try this again if the weight comes back, maybe even begin it prior to the holidays in order to allow for the weigh that’s sure to come ! Good luck.
My sister and I did this diet together. You do need support!!!
I have three small children to cook for everyday plus looking at all that great for for them killed me if I could do it anyone can.
I did lose 7 lbs in a week. I started at 148lbs and today I
am at 141 lbs. We both called each other 10 times a day We even
planned to call each other in the am with are weight which made it fun. Enjoy and do it with a friend or family member the time flys and so does the pounds.
and so does the lbs
and just keep
I am on day 4 of the diet and I feel great… I see all the comments on how this diet is BAD for you. I am going to disagree; I am a binge eater, so this is a great way to stop the cycle for me. I feel great and this is a nice way to stop the cycle of stress eating or poor body issues to eat. I know this is not a life long thing but it feels great to be in control of what is going into my body… I have lost 5 pounds and I feel great!!
I am on day 6 of the diet and have lost 10 pounds. While I don’t feel this is a diet one should stay on forever, it is a good jump start. I feel great, my craving for crappy foods has virtually disappeared and I have a ton of energy. I plan on staying on it for another week and after that following a health eating plan like Weight Watchers. I know that once one goes off the diet they will gain all the weight back if they don’t have a healthy plan in place. There is no miracle cure but if your looking for a way to get started I think this is as good an option as any. It cleanses the body, reduces cravings and reboots your metabolism. Good luck to those who try it!
i started this diet today and so far i lost 1.5 pounds.
i know, it’s hard to believe.
i walked about 5 miles and ate the soup + some watermelon.
i have a vision for myself and i attend to pursue it
I am on Day 4 and have lost 3.8kgs. I’m not keen on vegies but I enjoy the fruit. I don’t know if you can substitute or add to the suggested foods. I don’t know what to have if you are allergic to bananas. I do know that I feel good and will try again next week because its going to be a big weekend! August 2008
THIS DIET REALLY WORKS. I HAVE LOST LOTS OF WEIGHT FAST. THE ONLY REASON I PUT THE WEIGHT BACK ON WAS BECAUSE I FAILED TO CHANGE MY EATING HABITS. I WENT BACK TO THE OLD WAY OF EATING THAT GOT ME HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DIET TO ANYONE WHO IS SERIOUS ABOUT LOSING WEIGHT. THIS IS TRULY A FIVE STAR DIET.
I have tried the diet on several occassions. The very first time I lost 15 pounds the first week. And became pregnant afterwards. The second time I lost 11 pounds. Now I am on the diet again. My friend and I have tried it and both us had success. i recommend that you don’t go back to old eating habits and exercise at least 30 minutes a day. The doctor office I work for gave this to his patients that are over weight along with the Mayo diet and UAB diet. For all the people that don’t like veggies. Try the 3 day diet. For breakfast you eat bacon, eggs, and a half of grapefruit or grapefruit juice. Eat until full. Lunch you will eat a nice big salad topped with ham, cheese, tom., whatever toppings u like eat until your stuffed. Nothing else to eat until dinner. Dinner you will eat bake meat, a vegetable, and grapefruit or juice with all meals.
Good LUCK REMEMBER TO CONTINUE EATING HEALTHY
\
why is it bad … sound like healthy foods to me.
isn’t it for Over weight people mostly though.
I’ve done this diet in the past and I probably lost about 15 pounds. I did excercise in between (but not all the time).I didn’t exactly finish the whole diet, I stopped on day 4 probably. I haven’t gained any weight back since and its been a few years now!
I did the diet before and didnt gain it back immediately. My weight gain came vack with stress and emotional eating. I lost about 10 pounds the first time and I am preparing soup now for tomorrow so that I can do it again. Will let you know how it goes.
im starting this tomorrow, hope it works.
any tips on keeping the weight off after the diet?
as in how many calories i should intake and how much exercise is should be doing?
also is it just me or does the soup take realllllly bad?
My first time/week on this diet plan I lost 11 lbs. I and could only handle it for an additional 3 days. In all, the first attempt I lost 14lbs. A month later I tried it for another week and lost 6 lbs.
Then again 6 weeks after that and lost the final 5 lbs. After a total of 3 and 1/2 weeks on and off the diet a week at a time over 4 months. I lost 25lbs. It helps that I didn’t go back to my old eating habits in between. I continued on a low fat low carb 2500 calorie diet with moderate exercise. 10 months later I’ve still kept the weight off. I really get sick of the soup after 6 days, but stick with it and you’ll drop the weight. I go on the diet 1 week every 2 months now just for the cleansing properties I get from the diet.
this diet really does work. i lost 11.5 pounds in the seven days….went from a size 18 pants to a size 14 and went down a shirt size! everyone should try this diet!!!!
For the people who say this is a fraud…I lost 10 lbs the first week and 8 lbs my second week. It was very noticeable therefore it was not waterweight and I only gained back 2 lbs because I was clinically underweight. This diet is great! Also I never felt hungry…
I have tried this diet before and had great results.
Now that my vacation is over so is my weight 45 LBS to lose
I’m on my second day. Scale says I actually gained a pound, but how is that possible?? I’m not giving up. Soooo looking forward to my baked potatoe tonight and fruits again tomorrow. Not crazy about just veggies, but I am doing it regardless.
Did anyone add ketchup or mustard? or did anyone use any salad dressing like oil and vinegar?
I am eating the soup as a part of my day to day diet. I am not going by what is says I should be eating each day. I exercise 4 days a week and eat normal foods that are low in fat and that are healthy. So my combo of the soup, eathing healthy foods and exercise has helped me lose weight and keep the weight off. This way when I lose all the weight I want to I don’t have to worry about gaing it all back because i was eating normally from the beginning. I think if you incorporate this with healthy eating, you should not gain the weight back. This is just my experience. Already lost 10 piunds in three days. It may be water weight but you have to start somewhere. If you would like to respond to my comment, send an e-mail to honeykiss79@yahoo.com
The diet doesn’t say - if you can use SPENDA in your coffee/tea? My husband and I are starting today.
tasting wine is part of my job as I am a sommelier. I am starting tomorrow, can a have a half glass to a full glass of red wine during the week or no?
my partner and i did this diet a few months ago,i lost 7lbs he lost 10lbs,it works !!! i think people should give it a go.we used the first receipe!!! he is doing it again now. but finding it harder when im not doing it with him:( this is the coolest diet ever u never get hungary cause u can just keep eating soup 24-7 !!! :L:L:L:L
I’m going to try this but I know for a fact that coffee and tea or anything with caffiene increases your hunger on most diets they tell you stay away from coffee and tea or not to drink as much as any person normally does but this diet tells you can have coffee and tea but it doesn’t tell you how much I’m a coffee addict so I hope i can just limit my coffee intake to 1 or 2 a day lol best wishes to all who is on it I will keep you posted on my progress
can you have any of the drinks at anytime????
well I’m going to try this I really have to do something I’m going to follow this and get a membership for the ymca for exercise I wish everyone here the best of luck
