3 Day Diet
The 3 Day Diet is one of the most popular short-term fad diets around today. Many people adopt the diet to try and achieve short-term weight loss. However, unfortunately most people simply gain the weight back on again.
The 3 Day Diet is simply a low calorie diet (as can be seen by the meal plan). There is nothing magical – no mystical chemical reaction that goes on (as some seem to think). Weight loss is due to a sudden drop in calories – some of this may be fat – but most will be from water loss.
3 Day Diet Meal Plan
This diet is not recommended and should never be used for more than 3 days. This kind of diet is often used by those who experience “yo-yo” weight – it is not a good habit to get into.

Condiments Allowed
- Lemon (and lots of it, if you like)
- a dash of salt and/or pepper

- cooking spray
Substitutions
Some people use the following substitutions for the 3 day diet:
- Orange instead of Grapefruit
- Tuna instead of Cottage cheese (and vice versa)
- Frozen yogurt instead of Ice Cream
- Cauliflower instead of Broccoli (and vice versa)
- Green beans instead of Broccoli or Cauliflower
- Beets instead of Carrots
- Toast instead of 5 crackers (vice versa)

Can you add mayo to the tuna, or is it just straight tuna? I may opt for cottage cheese if I can’t add anything to the tuna.

I have been on this diet lots of times over the years, and every time I have always lost weight, my husband went on it for 3 weeks and in that time lost 27lbs, he was so pleased,
Just remember, stick to the diet, drink lots of water I aim for at least 8 glasses of water a day, plus black tea/coffee.
And on the 4 days off, eat sensibly, not binge eat, stick to healthy options, and the weight will stay off.
Guys, this is a hoax diet started years ago. The foods on the menu supposed to cause a chemical reaction in your body which makes you lose weight – This has since been proven to be a load of b*llocks. It was originally called the Heart Foundation diet, but the heart foundation says it has nothing to do with the diet what so ever. The only reason this diet works is because you are eating less calories, so it makes no difference if you eat an apple instead of a banana, or indeed if you ate only 2 bars of chocolate a day as long as it adds up to the same amount of calories the diet recommends. I’m afraid this is no magic diet that is going to make you ‘lose 10 pounds in 3 days’. Yes you may lose a few pounds but you will put them back on when eating normally. The best diet I have found is eating 1000 calories a day, eating foods i enjoy, and doing some exercise. That way you lose the weight,tone up your body and look fab.

Im just wondering can you substitute anything for bananas as i really dont like them?
I was planning on trying this diet soon, but after reading the meal plan, some food weren’t specific on how much to eat/drink… for instance, it didn’t specify how much water to drink, as much as we want or just one serving?? And are we allowed drink as much water throughout the day?

It can work if you are committed to do right for yourself. It works for me to JUMP START my diet and excercise plan whenever I am ready to be serious ABOUT MY HEALTH. It gets me focused for longer term healthy eating. The first days of any diet is tough when you’ve been eating everything you want without thinking about calories. This type plan is structured enough to get me on track and the inital weight loss is a morale boost to keep exercising and choosing the right foods and snacks. I say go for it, but remember good health and weight lost takes hard work. do it for the right reasons people.
well this is hard! If you mess up on day 1 can you just keep on going onto day 2?!
I did this diet about 18 years ago, it worked for me, and I kept the weight off until I had kids! I am going on it again!

going to try the diet first thing monday as all your comments prove that it works, but to the 10yr old please do not go on this diet or anything like it , if you feel like you need to lose weight then speak to an adult your close too. Your gym teacher is disgusting making you feel so bad.

im on this diet today. ive done it many times and my friends have to and my sisters. it works u just cant go back to eating normally. just keep eating theyre breakfasts they r very healthy and for toast eat whole wheat bread. thats the best. and just dont go back to eating like normal. i think this really teaches u portion control and i think us houdlnt excersize much ont his diet cuz its dandgerous. cuz u lose all the nutrition u ate that day. soo 3 days. goes by quicker, teaches u self control and hopefully not to eat too much at night or late. its a good starter.
I started the diet on just Wed…I feel pretty good..but I wen tup 2 lbs..not sure why..um gonna keep trying though..
Hey everyone, I have just started the diet today, I actually don’t feel hungry or anything, I just drink lots of water which helps me feel full between meals, this is the first time I have tried this, I weigh 205 and am 25yrs old really want to loose alot of weight. Hoping this will work, Wish me luck, i’ll keep everyone posted to see if i lose any.

no ur not allowed to eat anything in between meals.. that would just kill the whole diet plan.

People, if you want the best results you have to follow the diet strictly. No replacement of fruits/vegetables and no snacking between meals. If you replace foods and/or have snacks between meals you will lose less weight.
This is my 2nd day and i have been doing okay i ate an apple yesterday in between breakfast and lunch. i don’t see why it would be a problem to have snacks in between as long as it’s fruit. i excercise while i’m on it to. tommorow is my last day i’ll update and let u guys know how much i lost! wish me luck.
and no zoe you cant eat anything in between meals.otherwise that kills the whole diet.if u feel hungry during the day drink some water or tea or black coffee with splenda to tame the hunger
ok im at the end of my 3rd day.i cound’nt chug all that tuna down at dinner so i only ate a little more than half.uughh i cant stand that much tuna.lunch was really hummy.since i had school i just made a boiled egg sandwich and ate that in my art class hehe=D.i came home at 5:40 and i was famished.so i ate dinner and i could barely finish it.i weight myself everymorning.b4 this diet i was 137.then after day 1 i woke up as 135.day 2 i woke up as 133.now as for day 3 idk yet but im praying to be back to 130!!i’m gonna be really mad if im not at least 132 cus then i was chugging all that tuna down my mouth for no reason!
iv noticed a lot of people ask the same question wothout a response…are you allowed to eat fruit in between the meals?im considering startin soon but i hav a habit of snacking on fruits in between meals?
